The Sissonville Volunteer Fire Department, after being anonymously nominated, has submitted an application to Extreme Makeover Home Edition for the hopes that they could assist the Sissonville community in building a new fire station.

This is where we need your help! We need everyone to write to Extreme Makeover Home Edition explaining to them why a new fire station is needed in Sissonville. While some of you may not be directly affected by the loss of the fire station in Sissonville, there are many many families that have been. Perhaps some of your co-workers, family and friends have also been affected by this loss. We serve 125 square miles, which not only includes Sissonville, but many miles of outlying areas around Sissonville. Below we will explain the two ways you can do this.

Sissonville Volunteer Fire Department is a First Response Department. Again, you may not think that you are affected by the loss of the fire station, consider the fact that a large portion of I-77 is included in the 125 square miles served by the fire department. How often have you driven on I-77? Do you have friends or family that drive on I-77 frequently, or even daily. Sissonville Fire Department is First Response for motor vehicle accidents, and other emergency situations on the portion of I-77 within the 125 square miles they serve.

So, please take a moment and show your support! Extreme Makeover Home Edition has come to West Virginia on one other occasion to help a family. So, lets show Extreme Makeover Home Edition that West Virginia supports our communities when in need and/or when tragedy strikes. The more community and state involvement and support increases Sissonville's chances of being selected by Extreme Makeover Home Edition to assist the community in building a new fire station.
